We recently found out that Cindy, who is pregnant and due in May, is having another boy. A while back, probably when Carolyn found out she was having a girl (Addie), I noticed a pattern between our two families. I've been curious to see how long it will continue. So far, we are right on track. My family, from oldest to youngest, goes like this: James, Matt, Beth, Mike, Jocelyn. Grant's family, from oldest to youngest, goes like this: Ben, Stuart, Grant, Michael, Alex. Now, look at the correlation when it comes to our kids:
My family~~Grant's family
--------James: 4 boys~~Ben: 3 boys, 1 on the way
Matt: boy, girl, boy, boy~~Stuart: boy, girl --------------
Beth: girl, boy, (boy on the way)~~Grant: girl----------------------------
Mike: (none at this point)~~Michael: boy, girl -------------
------------Me: girl~~Alex: (none at this point)
Do you see the pattern? So, in order for it to continue, Carolyn and I are going to have to have a boy next. It could get pretty tricky with the overlap of me and Alex. If it actually happened, we would have 3 identical families because Grant will copy Beth, and Alex will copy me (at least where gender and birth order are concerned). I'm not superstitious or anything, I just think it will be fun to see how long the pattern goes on.

ReplyDeleteI tried really hard to follow all that...but alas ya lost me. There is a pattern in my family also...so far all the grandkids are born three days apart numerically. I actually predicted my sisters due date using this..pretty amazing LOL! Kind of fun to follow!
