On Wednesday, we went out to Matt and Laurie's to see their nice new house. We hung out with the kids, Eleanor went up and down the stairs, Grant busied himself with Brennan's video games, and our second trip to Cafe Rio ensued. Grant watched the kids while Laurie and I went to the mall for a bit.
Grant, Eleanor, Callie, and Brennan. Callie and Brennan had just had their first day back at school (they were back "on track" as they say with year-round school). Eleanor and Callie are enjoying cups of ice chips.
As soon as Laurie and I got back from the mall, where we were tempted but didn't buy anything, Grant and I left to meet Haley and Nate for dinner. They treated us to some good food at Texas Roadhouse, and we had a good time.
The next day (Thursday) was mostly busy preparing for the reunion. We had to go buy supplies for the craft the grandkids would do. We did manage to squeeze in a dollar movie while Aunt Kathleen watched Eleanor. I'm still hoping Oregon will catch on to the whole dollar movie thing. I know Northern Lights is cheap, but we've never gone because they never have a decent movie playing at a decent hour. The movie we saw wasn't the greatest, but at least we got to be out on a date that didn't cost much! After that, we went shopping at the mall.
On the way home from the mall, Grant was hardly paying attention to the road because he kept watching the sky to admire the major thunder storm that was going on. Did you ever hear the expression doesn't have the sense to come in out of the rain? He stood out in the driveway watching the lightning and thunder when we got back. After much prodding, I finally convinced him to watch from the shelter of the porch, and that is where I left him so I could get Eleanor started on bedtime.

See what trouble my daughter got into at the mall?
On Friday, before we went to Brighton for the reunion, we went downtown with Aunt Kathleen to tour temple square and see where she works. She is doing a church service mission working with family history.
Looks like you guys had so much fun! Utah is so fun and there's so much to do, my favorite is Cafe Rio too! YUM, I'm hungry now! It is nice to be home though...in your own bed, isn't it? :-)
