Easter Extravaganza Post

Here are all our fun activities we did for Easter (in one long post).
We went to Grant's parents' house the Monday before Easter for an Easter egg hunt with the other grand kids.

The kids got to color Easter eggs.

Eleanor.

Miss Addie.
Daniel, Isaac, Addie, Eleanor.
This is what Eleanor does when she isn't really paying attention when I ask her to look at me. She turns the face but not the eyes/attention.
Grant got some cute pictures of his grandma holding Phaedra. We were glad she was able to be there for the celebration.
It just wouldn't be a trip to grandma's in warm weather if there wasn't time spent in the sandbox.
Look at Carter's "Grrrr" face!
The hunt. The younger kids got to start first, so they would have a chance.
Phaedra had her own way of enjoying the festivities.
Cute bottom.
Addie going to great lengths to get an egg. I guess I mostly got pictures of the girls. Probably because the boys finished so quickly!
Eleanor didn't pick up many hard boiled eggs. When you tried to point one out, she would say, "No. That one isn't Easter. I want one that is Easter." Apparently, the plastic ones filled with candy are "Easter." She's no dummy.
Now, fast forward to the Friday before Easter. We were all really sad that Michael's family wasn't able to join in the fun during Monday's Easter egg hunt. So, since Grant was working late that night anyway, our family went to join them and do it all over again on Friday. We even lucked out and had warm weather.
They started out enjoying the sandbox and sidewalk chalk (Eleanor's new favorite).
Then, they colored Easter eggs. Eleanor and David were done in no time, and Isabel liked trying to eat the dyes.
Some hands were dyed in the process.
The hunt. This time, things went a bit slower.

Look at the excitement on his face.

My pretty girl.

Another pretty girl.

A happy boy.
And a little jealousy.

This was actually the very first year the Easter bunny has come to our house (sad but true). In the past, we decided Eleanor was too young to notice. Plus, last year, we had been to Utah, and Eleanor had already gotten all sorts of goodies from grandparents. So, this was the first year the Easter bunny came (after I twisted Grant's arm-- party pooper!).
This is what the Easter bunny brought us. It was fun!

  1. First I love Phae's curls, they crack me up.
Second, tell Grant to quit being such a fuddy-duddy. He has girls, and girls need the Easter bunny. Besides he better appreciate the girls being little and their baskets only costing about $10 because in a few years he's not going to be so lucky.
