This afternoon, before I started making dinner, I got out a recipe card to write down a recipe I have on my computer. Eleanor asked if she could write, too. I told her I would get her a card to write on when I finished. I did, and she wrote with my pen for a bit and then asked for another one. I told her she could write on the back of the one she had. This turned out to be a happy solution for her, and she flipped it over and made several marks on the back.
When she decided it was finished, I asked her to tell me about it. I fully expected her to mention something about food and cooking. To my surprise, she replied, "It says, 'How I love you, Mommy.'"
I put that scribbled recipe card on my fridge.
How stinkin' cute is that? That is the sweetest thing.
ReplyDeleteSo great! Now you have something to remind you of how much she loves her mom - even when she is being difficult (which is hardly ever, right?):).
