A Mixture of Pictures

At swim class on Saturday, we practiced using life jackets.

Eleanor was pretty comfortable in hers unless she was on her back. I had to really work to convince her to practice floating on her back. Look at Audrey, just chillin.

Sunday was Adelynn's blessing. We all went over to Stu and Care's afterwards to visit and have some food.
Eleanor found this doggy first thing, and toted it all over the house. It's about the same size as she is, so it was a bit challenging for her. Carter felt threatened every now and then and hid the dog, but Eleanor was pretty good at finding it, much to Carter's dismay. Here she is feeding it a bottle with Grandpa. We may need to teach her that dogs don't drink bottles through the nose.

I should have gotten more pictures, but sometimes I feel awkward shoving my camera in people's faces when it's not my house, not my get-together. I really failed by not getting one picture of Adelynn, but she was sleeping or being held the whole time. Carolyn got some good ones; you'll have to check them out.

On the way back from Stuart and Carolyn's, Eleanor started babbling, "doughey, doughey." Grant and I tried to figure out what she was talking about. I thought she might be trying to say "doing" or something like that. We speculated for a moment until it dawned on me: we had just passed Dunkin Doughnuts! After swim class on Saturdays, we have gone out for doughnuts a few times, and Eleanor really loves it. That's all it took for her to memorize what the place looks like and associate it with yummy food. You would think we made her into a junky or something!

After that, we went to Grandma Cline's (or Grandma Bock-bock's) for dinner and to play some cards.

How do we manage to play cards with our busy little toddler? We let her play with the phone, dance on the table, and run laps between the kitchen and family room.

Doing a little dance. Sometimes the best way to let her entertain herself while we play cards is to just stand her up on the table. She walks from person to person, planting herself in front of each one with a big grin and saying, "Hi!"
