Crunching Leaves

My mother came to visit last Tuesday while Grant was working late, and we took a walk. We taught Eleanor all about the joys of crunching leaves.

This was the only shot I was able to get with her looking up at me. I used to be able to ask her to say, "hi Mommy," and she would briefly look up to say it. I could catch what resembled a smile while she pronounced the ee sound of Mommy. Now, she has gotten wise to that and says, "hi Mommy," to me without even glancing in my direction. I'll have to form a new tactic.
